2007 AAU Junior Olympic Games underway


Knox County is now hosting the largest multi-event sports spectacle annually in the United States as home for the 2007 AAU Junior Olympic Games July 25-Aug. 4.

Approximately 17,000 youth ages 6 to 18 will compete in 22 events, with an economic impact projected at well more than $30 million according to a AAU news release.

Daily admission is $12, with an all-event passport $40.

The Celebration of Athletes ($15) will be held from 8 to 10 p.m. Monday, June 30, at Chilhowee Park.
