Flames extinguish tourney field, win third straight USSSA state championship

The Farragut Flames won the USSSA AAA 12U State Championship played at the Northwest Sports Park June 22-24, defeating the Lakeshore Hawks and East Tennessee Black Sox in pool play to secure the No. 1 seed in the AAA tourney.
In the tournament, the Flames defeated the Aquasox 1-0 in the quarterfinals, beat Thunder Cardinal 6-5 in the semifinals then whipped East Tennessee Select 9-2 to earn its 2nd AAA title in three years. The Flames ended the season with a 39-16 record, which included a Farragut Baseball League Championship.
