Table Fifteen, that is ...

A new hotspot opened earlier this month at Turkey Creek with the grand opening of Table Fifteen Bistro and Bar, 11383 Parkside Drive.

“Table Fifteen is a concept that’s a blend of casual gathering in a really elegant environment,” Dennis Perkins, restaurant media liaison, said. “We have a wide selection of wines, more than 80 wines by the glass and small bottles.”

Perkins described the food and environment of the restaurant as “elegant casual.”

“One of our most popular dishes right now is our prime-rib pizza,” he said. “We also have a smoked-salmon pizza.”

Other food items include appetizers such as a shrimp cocktail, large shrimp chilled and served with three special sauces; marinated olives — house olives marinated in fresh-herbed olive oil, roasted and served with toasted bread; and a three-cheese plate selection.

Soups include French onion, topped with toasted bread, provolone cheese and finished in the Table Fifteen brick oven.

Salad options include a Caesar salad, chicken Caesar, or blackened sirloin Caesar.

Table Fifteen offers a variety of sandwich choices, including a chicken BLT — a chicken breast with Applewood smoked bacon, baby greens, mayo and sliced Roma tomatoes on flatbread; a chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich, a chicken breast with Black Forrest ham, provolone/mozzarella cheese and honey Dijon on flatbread.

“We offer a variety of wines to go with the food,” Perkins said.

A sample of the wines Table Fifteen offers include Fazi Battaglia Verdicchio, Castelli di Jesi, Marches, Italy. The bouquet recalls freshly picked peaches and apples mingled with rose petals, while the taste is crisp, clean and refreshing. Verdicchio is

a perfect marriage with

• Lurton Pinot Gris, Valle de Uco, Mendoza, Argentina. This major European grape variety, widely grown in Italy, is thoroughly at home in Argentina. It is rich in aromas of peach, apricot and tropical fruits. On the palate, it is crisp with plenty of roundness, close to Alsace wines, with a delightfully flavorsome finish.

• Domaine du Pouy, VDP Cotes de Gascogne, France. The cold fermentation of Ugni Blanc from the Bas-Armagnac region captures vibrant aromatics and guards freshness. The wine has a penetrating floral green apple fragrance, and is loaded with refreshingly crisp and flavorful fruit. Domaine de Pouy has consistently been a fine value. It’s a perfect wine for first courses and fresh, simply prepared seafood.

• Borgo Maddalena Pinot Grigio, della Venezie, Italy. Honeysuckle and orchard fruit in the aroma are echoed in the taste along with flavors of lemon. Very crisp and clean.
