Football camp helps kick-off grid season

The annual Farragut High School Football Camp, held in cooperation with CBFO Football last week, featured “close to 150” young players ages 7 to 14, said camp director and FHS head coach Eddie Courtney. Held Wednesday, July 25, to Friday, July 27, on the FHS practice field, the camp began with a number of stretching-related drills. Four 7-and-8-year-old campers are shown first in line during a “Frankenstein” stretching-related drill. Left to right are Nathan Keel, 8, Hunter Varney, 7, Hunter Naylor, 8, and Brandon Gydish, 8. Benny Lyle, FHS assistant coach, wished to thank Larry Gurney, CEO of The Rush, for again sponsoring camp T-shirts. Practices at all five westside high schools are now underway pointing to the Aug. 17 jamboree at FHS and the Aug. 24 regular season openers.
