‘Measuring the impact of Alcoa Inc.’ Blount meeting focus


A presentation of study conducted by Younger Associates on the economic impact Alcoa Inc. has on Blount, Knox and Hamblen counties will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 13, at the offices of the Blount County Chamber of Commerce, 201 S. Washington St., Maryville.

Comments from Geoff Cromer, Alcoa Inc., vice president of U.S. Primary Metals, and others will be heard.

The study examined the overall impact of all Alcoa Inc. operations in East Tennessee as well as the impact of each individual facility located in the region. The study shows Alcoa Inc.’s economic impact on East Tennessee to be in the billions.
