• Lacrosse skills and drills, along with conditioning and leadership, will be taught by the coaches and players of Farragut High School Lacrosse from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 10, through Friday, Sept. 14, at the FHS Lacrosse field (behind Farragut Middle School) for boys grades 4-8 and 9-12. Cost is $60 for each returning player with his own stick (register by Sept. 1 to be in team tournament); $80 for each new player (will receive a new lacrosse stick and ball). • The 7th Annual Sacred Heart Cathedral School Fall Golf Classic will be held Thursday, Sept. 6, at Egwani Farms Golf Course. It is an 18-hole, four person scramble. Entry fee is $125 per person and includes green and cart fees, breakfast, lunch, goodie bags, prizes, beverages, snacks and awards. • Men’s Club of Concord United Methodist Church is sponsoring its 10th Annual Golf for Habitat event, Monday, Aug. 20, at Willow Creek Golf Club in Farragut. Registration is $100 per player. This fee includes golf, lunch, beverages on the course and a gift at registration. Corporate sponsorship packages are also available. Activities begin with registration at 7:30 a.m. A shotgun start will follow at 8:30 a.m. Individuals interested in playing in the event can pick up registration forms at Concord United Methodist Church, 11020 Roane Drive, Knoxville. • Robert Wright, a Baptist Health System employee, sank a hole-in-one on No. 6 at Landmark Golf Club at Avalon and won a 2008 Ford Fusion during Baptist Health System Foundation’s recent 21st annual Baptist Golf Classic. Wright has participated in each of the 21 Baptist Golf Classic tournaments. In addition to winning the car, Wright also won a golf trip sponsored by Rice Buick-GMC, placed third in team competition and won the Longest Drive Contest. Part of the tournament was held at Fox Den Country Club. Doyle M. Wallace served as tournament chair.

• The Episcopal School of Knoxville is hosting a sporting clay shooting event called “Shooting for Scholarships” beginning at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 26, at the Chilhowee Sportsman’s Club in Maryville. Entry fee is $145 per shooter, which includes ammunition. Contestants will shoot at 12 stations. Prizes will be given for first- and second-place and as door prizes.
