Three hospitalized, 2 arrested in mid-week Lovell DUI crash

Two people are charged in connection with two collisions last week on Lovell Road at Lexington Drive.

The events began unfolding when a Pontiac Grand Am driven by Natasha Craft, 27, of Widner, Ga., ran a redlight on Lexington Drive as she made a left onto Lovell Road and crashed into a motorcycle at 2:48 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 22.

Driving the motorcycle was James Dockery, 29, of Tallassee and his passenger, Carrie Leanord, 21, of Knoxville. Both were thrown from the motorcycle.

Craft backed up her car and then drove through the crash scene. She fled to the Truck Stops of America on Lovell Road where she was apprehended by Knox County Sheriffs Office deputies in the parking lot.

Meantime, a witness to the crash, Ronald Yeninas, 40, of Bloomburg, Pa., went to the aid of Dockery. He and Dockery were then run over by a Mazda sedan driven by Charles Warren, 27, of Knoxville.

Yeninas, Dockery and Leanord were all transported by Rural Metro ambulance to The University of Tennessee Medical Center.

Craft and Warren are charged in connection with the crashes. Craft is being held on a $2,500 bond for driving under the influence, implied consent violation, leaving the scene with injury, failure to yield the right of way, and failure to provide information and render aid.

Warren is being held on a $1,000 bond for driving under the influence and violation of the open container law.

Other charges are pending against the two as the KCSO Traffic Reconstruction Unit continues its investigation.
