Top efforts in CBFO Bowl Saturdays
Staff Reports - Thu, Aug, 30, 2007
Steve Brewer’s CBFO Minor Pee Wee NFC Admirals youth football team prides itself with the nickname “The Blue Machine.”
That machine was hitting on all cylinders during CBFO/Halls Kick-Off Classic games, 13 in all, Saturday, Aug. 25, at FHS’s Bill Clabo Field.
Touchdown runs from Reagan Amos and Zack Readett, a fumble recovery in the end zone for a touchdown from Nate Prince plus an extra-point run from Michael Travis added up to a 19-6 win.
Defensively, Brewer and other CBFO coaches praised linebacker Taylor Blaine for several “real good” stops plus some hard licks handed out.
Brewer’s team held a 2-0-1 record after three games.
MULTI-OPPONENT BOWL
One week before at FHS against teams from Carter, Fulton and Powell, CBFO teams finished 6-3-2 in 13 games Aug. 18.
Among the highlights was the CBFO XFL Pee Wees scoring late to beat Fulton 14-7.
Blaise Taylor’s 15-yard run in the fourth quarter broke a 7-7 tie. Blaise scored earlier in the game on a 25-yard scamper.
Quarterback Austin Cox passed to Cason Byrd for one extra-point conversion, and fired to Tristan Majors for the other.
