BHS cross country boys fourth at All-Comers among field of 54

Led by Sam Shaughnessy’s third-place finish (17:11) at the A.F. Bridges cross country meet came Saturday, Sept. 22, at Percy Warner State Park near Nashville, the Bearden boys took fourth-place among a 54-team field.
Gregg Rader took 12th among a field of more than 350, but was in third-place coming down the stretch before suffering “an asthma attack,” BHS head coach Steve Prince said.
The BHS girls’ 13th-place finish, among a 40-team field, was led by Sarah Hope Jones’ in 25th.
One week earlier, also at Percy Warner for the Tennessee Classic, the Bulldog boys finished ninth among a 70-team field, led by Rader in 20th-place and Shaughnessy in 27th among more than 350 runners.
The Bearden girls finished among the top-25 at the Sept. 15 meet, led by Ruth Hahn’s 77th-place effort from a field of about 300.
KIL championship is Thursday morning, Oct. 4, at Victor Ashe Park in Knoxville.
