• Verizon Wireless to build $54 million regional headquarters facility in Franklin. Company will hire 600 to 700 new employees at headquarters during the next three to five years.

• BB&T Corporation declares 2007 4th quarter dividend of $0.46 per share to be paid Thursday, Nov 1, to shareholders of record as of Friday, Oct. 12.

• BB&T names David Fisher as director of its wealth management division. Fisher will manage a division of 585 employees divided into 27 regional teams across BB&T’s 11-state territory.
