Lady SoccerDawgs blank KCHS


The state’s No. 4-ranked Bearden Lady SoccerDawgs defeated the Knoxville Catholic Lady Irish 7-0 Tuesday, Oct. 2, at KCHS.

Bearden sophomore Ashley Howarth led the way with three goals. Junior Amy Porter had two goals while sophomore Kirsten Bodker and freshman Caroline Gianeselli added one each.

Porter and junior Tessa Batchelor had two assists apiece while senior Lindsay Pompilio, junior Caroline Lutz and freshman Samantha Turner contributed an assist each.

Bearden improves its record to 12-2-1 entering the week.

The Bearden at Oak Ridge game originally scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 4 was cancelled due to lightning. The game will not be rescheduled.

The Lady SoccerDawgs close out the regular season with home games against Greeneville Tuesday, Oct. 9 (after press deadline) and Thursday, Oct. 11, against Notre Dame.

Both games are set to begin at 7 p.m.
