Yoon an All-American

Lauren Yoon
The already impressive athletic resumé of Lauren Yoon, Webb School of Knoxville Class of 2018 tennis standout, now includes National High School All-American.

In recognition of attaining the highest standards of prep tennis excellence, National High School Tennis All-American Foundation named Yoon and 40 other girls’ high school tennis players nationwide as High School All- Americans for 2018.

Yoon was the only girls’ player from Tennessee to receive this year’s honor.

To be recognized as All-American, a student-athlete must maintain an above-average academic record, compete on a high school tennis team and be highly ranked in United States Tennis Association juniors.

All decisions for All- American honors are researched and authorized by eight of the most highly respected high school coaches in the United States.

Yoon, a Cum Laude Society inductee and named to National Honor Society her junior and senior years, also was a member of Webb’s Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society for scholastic excellence in mathematics.

While helping lead her Lady Spartan tennis team to a historic ninth consecutive state team championship during 2018 Division II-A TSSAA championships, Yoon also is a two-time (2017, 2018) state singles champion. In addition, she also earned TSWA All-State honors and was named 2015 PrepXtra Girls Tennis Player of the Year as a freshman.

Yoon will continue her tennis career at Emory University this fall.
