Randolph crowns lead FHS girls back to state
Farragut’s Anderson wins district

Through three post-season golf tournaments, it’s been a clean sweep for Mike Driver’s Farragut High School teams. Led by District 4-AAA and Region 2-AAA individual champ Alyssa Randolph, the Lady Admirals won both team titles and will defend its 2006 Class AAA state crown at Old Fort in Murfreesboro Oct. 16-17.

On the boys side, the Admirals captured the district title by 19 strokes versus runner-up Bearden, led by individual champ Hayden Anderson, a sophomore, and tourney runner-up Michael Reeves.

Randolph’s region championship at Green Meadow Thursday, Oct. 4 was a five-shot victory (even par 72).

That came three days after her district crown at Lambert Acres by six shots (4 under par 69 ).

“I think she stepped up here in post-season and provided great senior leadership for us,” Driver said of Randolph.

“Chelsea Passmore, this is her first post-season tournament [high school] and 77 was a great score at Lambert Acres,” Driver added about the freshman. “More importantly, the 85 at Green Meadow was just good enough to get us back to state..”

Driver called Anderson’s 2-under 70 “a phenomenal day ... he was the only golfer under par that day.”

Reeves shot even par 72. Brandon Rodgers took fifth (74).

Led by Jeff Slack’s 73 and Bradley Bartram’s 77, Bearden joined FHS in the boys region at Fox Den Oct. 9 (after deadline).

Lady Bulldogs freshman Allie Knight shot 80 at Green Meadow, finishing fourth and earning an individual state bid, leading BHS to a third-place region finish.
