Defending champ CAK, Catholic in Class A-AA state soccer tilt


Defending Class A-AA state soccer champ Christian Academy of Knoxville (19-3-1) is back in the state tourney.

Joined at state by rival Knoxville Catholic (12-11), CAK began state play versus early-rounds host Chattanooga Christian (11-8-4) Wednesday, Oct. 31 (after press deadline).

A win there sends CAK to the semifinals versus the University School of Jackson (18-4-2) against Christ Presbyterian Academy (15-5-2) winner at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1.

Catholic faced Franklin Road Academy (18-4-2) Wednesday, and would face the winner of Notre Dame (14-3-3) versus Jackson Christian (18-4-1) at 7 p.m. Thursday. The state title game is noon, Saturday, Nov. 3, at Girls Preparatory School.
