Alderman applications being accepted

Farragut Board of Mayor and Aldermen is now accepting applications for the Ward 2 alderman seat left vacant when then Aldermen Ron Williams was sworn in as mayor Thursday, Aug. 23. The term expires in August 2020, when the position will be on the general election ballot.

Any resident interested in filling the seat should send a résumé and letter of interest to Allison Myers, Town recorder, no later than Monday, Sept. 10. Paperwork can be dropped off at Farragut Town Hall, 11408 Municipal Center Drive, or e-mailed to amyers@townoffarragut.org.

Individual interviews with each member of the current Board of Mayor and Aldermen will be conducted with each applicant shortly after the deadline. Citizens that have questions for the candidates can submit them to their representative before the Sept. 10 deadline.

Applicants must have resided in Ward 2 (south of Kingston Pike) for at least one year prior to appointment. The board is expected to fill the seat in early fall.
