Free throws clang in FHS loss to ’07 state champs

Free throw line efficiency abandoned the Farragut Admirals in the fourth quarter, as the FHS boys were handed their first loss of the season Tuesday, Nov. 27, against defending Class AAA champion Maryville at MHS 68-65.

The Ads (6-1 record entering the week) were 10-of-11 from the free-throw line entering the fourth quarter, but were 1-of-6 in the final quarter of this District 4-AAA showdown.

“It was one of the best high school games I have been involved in,” FHS head coach Donald Dodgen said. “The whole difference was free throws. We just didn’t shoot the ball well from the free throw line.”

Kyle Binder led four Ads in double figures with 11 points, followed by Jonathan Moore, Esean Phillips and Chris Carroll with 10 each.

Riley Hunley had eight, Sean Watson seven, John Abraham six and Justin Griswold three points.
