All-American Webster tops All-South Region local soccer honorees

Tom Webster, Bearden SoccerDawg standout senior forward, has been named both an NSCAA All-American and 2007 Boys NSCAA/Adidas All South Regional Team honoree.
Webster also will represent Tennessee as its High School All-American at the NSCAA National Convention in Baltimore, Md. in January.
Joining Webster on the All-South boys team are Ben Backstrom of 2007 TSSAA Class AAA state champion Farragut (’07 graduate); Webster’s teammate, Bulldog goalkeeper Bryan Walker, another key cog for the ’07 state runner-ups (’07 grad), and Brandon Tarr, Christian Academy of Knoxville senior forward who helped propel CAK to its fifth straight Class A/AA state title in May.
On the girls’ side, All-South honoree Sarah Canter, Bearden Lady Soccer-Dawg senior goalkeeper, helped lead BHS to consecutive Class AAA state crowns in 2006 and 2007.
“This is a highly prestigious award for all of these players,” BHS girls and boys head coach Eric Turner said.
