• It must be nice for those two individuals that just decided to ride their bicycles in the middle of Smith Road near Fox Den causing traffic to get backed up, making it dangerous to attempt a pass around those bicyclists. They had no concern for other people’s safety, and I am frankly angry about that because we have built sidewalks for that purpose. If there was ever to be a bicycle tax for those that chose to share the roads with other vehicles, I would support it, regardless. Please, introduce a bicycle tax since we have to pay for wheel tax and its not fair the bicyclists can take advantage of a free ride on a public road without paying for it if we have to pay to drive on public roads with our vehicles.

• As we start the new year, just a driving tip reminder to people about the turn lane. The turning lane is that lane between the east[bound] and westbound lanes on Kingston Pike. I just saw yet another person improperly using the turning lane. You do not slow down on Kingston Pike and then make a left or right turn. What you do is cross into the turning lane and then slow down to make your left or right turn.

• Kudos to the Campbell Station Road Rural Metro for always providing such delightful holiday light display. The lights are a joy to see and lift the spirit. Thank you so much, Rural Metro.

• I would like to commend [a new] restaurant … on their attractive renovation and encourage everyone to try [various items on the] menu. The party platters are incredible. They are definitely [a] premier ... restaurant in Knoxville. The service is really great. The restaurant location is so convenient in Farragut … and they’re open seven days a week.
