In December, the Farragut Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved the 2007-2008 snow removal schedule. Snow removal is done on a list of first priority and second priority areas.
Bud McKelvey, director of public works, said that there must be at least one inch of snow for trucks to go out. Crews are split into three shifts that work eight hours each so that snow removal can be done 24 hours per day. All workers on the crews are safety trained.
McKelvey also stated that if snow continues to fall, workers will concentrate only on the first priority list. After the snow has stopped, they will move to clear roads on the second priority list.
