’Dawgs roll; Admirals fall

While the No. 2 state-ranked Bearden boys had an easy time with Heritage at BHS Tuesday, Nov. 15, Farragut suffered from a 22-7 third quarter deficit in a 59-48 home loss to Maryville.
Demonte Simpson, Bearden’s 6-foot-9 junior center, led the 71-39 rout of HHS with 20 points.
Blake Jenkins scored nine for the Bulldogs (21-1 overall, 8-1 in District 4-AAA entering the week), followed by Gabe Campbell with seven, Marcus Webb, Dustin Craig and Nathan Parker six each, Galen Campbell five, Andy Fennell four, Benji Ware and DeShawn Oravetz three apiece and Collins two points.

The Admirals lost Jan. 15 despite having three players reach double figures scoring: Sam Watson and Kyle Binder 11 each and Chris Carroll 10. Jonathan Moore had nine, Esean Phillips five and John Abraham two. Farragut was 16-6 overall, 5-4 in 4-AA entering the week.
