• Michael E. Kelly, M.D., was one of 1,291 surgeons from around the world to be named a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons during the ceremonies at the 93rd annual Clinical Congress in New Orleans. Kelly practices with Premier Surgical Associates at Parkwest Medical Center.

• Pellissippi State Technical Community College named Melanie Paradise as new registrar. Paradis has served as interim registrar since October.

• The American Cancer Society announces that Bill Evans, Tennessee’s State Lead Ambassador, has been recognized as the 2007 Advocacy Volunteer of the Year Life Saver for both the state of Tennessee and the six-state Mid-South Division.

• The American Cancer Society announces that WATE-TV has been honored with the Lighthouse Award for Media Advocacy for both the state of Tennessee and the six-state Mid-South Division.

• Rodefer Moss & Co, PLLC, announces that Jim Myers, CPA, has joined the firm as chief administrative officer. Myers graduated magna cum laude from Carson- Newman with a double major in mathematics and accounting. He obtained his CPA certification in 1976.
