DeRosa likes Lipscomb

\Joey DeRosa, an All-state soccer goalkeeper at Knoxville Catholic High School, signed National Letter of Intent papers with David Lipscomb University, Nashville, [NCAA Division I] during a ceremony in the KCHS gym Feb. 6. In addition to having friends at Lipscomb, DeRosa listed other factors in his decision: I love the environment ... I thought it was the best fit for me soccer-wise and career-wise. They had the correct career path that I wanted to take. DeRosa, 18, also is a two-time All-region honoree who helped lead the Irish to the 2006 Class A/AA state championship game. Alongside DeRosa are his parents, Joseph and Karen DeRosa. Standing in back are his sister, Sophia, and KCHS head coach Mark Leader.
