SHCS plans ‘Boots & BBQ’

Sacred Heart Cathedral School is planning its 18th Annual Home & School Association Dinner, Dance and Auction fund-raiser for Saturday, April 5.

The theme of this year’s event is “Boots & Barbecue” and will be held at Knoxville Convention Center. All proceeds generated will benefit ongoing instructional needs and the acquisition of educational materials not otherwise provided for in the school budget.

More importantly, the auction provides an opportunity for the Sacred Heart Cathedral School community to come together with friends, family, clergy, businesses, school faculty and staff to share an evening of fellowship and fun.

Auction guests are encouraged to wear their blue jeans and boots for the occasion. The evening will begin with hor d’oeuvres, cash bar cocktails and live music by Mark Shipe during the silent auction portion of the evening.

A western-themed barbecue dinner will be served in the convention center ballroom, which will be transformed into the Wild West with cowboy-themed decorations.

Following dinner, a slide show production showcasing the school and its students will lead into the fast-paced live auction, which includes trips to Rome, Italy, St. Andrews, Scotland and a backyard spa and patio worth $24,000.

Then the “boot scooting” and line dancing will begin with the evening’s entertainment provided by DJ Jim Ogle.

Tickets to the auction are $50 per person / $100 per couple. Reservations will be accepted through Sunday, March 15.

Doors will open at 6 p.m., and dancing lasts until midnight.
