BHS tennis girls led by McMurray; Bulldog boys rebuilding
Alan Sloan - Thu, Apr, 10, 2008
Though the Bearden girls tennis team carried a 2-4 overall record into this week’s action, strength lies at the top.
Sophomore Kayla McMurray, No. 1 player, “is really good, she’s got a chance with the Farragut girl [Julia Hsu] to be the best two probably in the county,” head coach Clint Cope said. “They’ll probably be battling it out for the District [4-AAA] championship.”
Other players: No. 2 Stephanie Sparr, No. 3 Liza Rineiri, No. 4 Kim Hodges, No. 5 Courtney Barnes, No. 6 Sarah Axon, No. 7 Kelly Cox, No. 8 Morgan Feigley and No. 9 Abby Patterson.
Bearden’s boys team, losing its top six players from ’07, sports a 2-3 overall record but is 2-0 in 4-AAA.
Players Nos. 1-11 are Jacob Pollack, Shohei Attika, Ryan Walsh, Adam Keck, Jin Yu, Noah Cruz, Sven Holberg, Matt Webb, Michael Ibrahim, Burton Mandrell and Nick Oschman.
