• American Cancer Society’s Golf Classic will be held May 12 at Willow Creek Golf Club. Tee times are 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Fee is $600 per four-person team and includes green fees, cart rental, breakfast, lunch, awards banquet and a player gift. • Concord Park Little Champs championship for ages 11 and under begins with tee times at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 26. Format is 9-hole stroke play. Cost is $15 per player. Players may have a caddie. Five divisions offered: boys age 7 and under, ages 8-9 and ages 10-11; girls ages 8 and under and ages 9-11. To register, call Concord Park at 865-966-9103.

• Full membership and tournament registration is now open for the 2008 season on the Toyota TGA Junior Tour. Tour is open to junior golfers ages 4-18. Tour runs from late May to mid-July with season-ending championships during the last few weeks in July.  Players new to Toyota TGA Junior Tour need to fill out an on-line application at www.tgajuniortour.com. Simply click on the “Register Now” button on the lower left-hand corner of the web site and it will walk you through the process. • Second annual Brooke Culbreth Alumni Memorial Soccer Game again will feature past stars from Farragut and Bearden high school boys teams in a showdown at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 19, at FHS’s Bill Clabo Field. About 30 former Farragut stars and 15 ex-BHS stars are expected. Admission is $5 at gate, with a $10 ticket including post-game dinner immediately after game in FHS Commons. Tickets can be purchased at Soccer USA adjacent to Kohl’s, Kingston Pike, or at any upcoming FHS home game. Proceeds going to build concession stand to be named in Brooke Culbreth’s honor.

• Oak Ridge Golf and Country Club, 150 Gum Hollow Road, will host Sixth Annual Episcopal School of Knoxville Saints’ Open Golf Tournament Monday, April 21. Thirty four-player teams slots available. April 14 is registration deadline. Registration and warm-up on the driving range at 11:30; lunch at noon; shotgun start at 1 p.m.; an awards ceremony immediately after the tournament. Tournament format is four-player scramble. Individual golfers to be grouped into teams. Entry fee $225 per player, $800 per team. • Town of Farragut has rescheduled “Break the Chill” Sand Volleyball Tournament for Saturday, May 10, at Mayor Bob Leonard Park off Watt Road beginning at 8:30 a.m. Tourney will feature co-ed recreational and co-ed competitive divisions with four to six players — at least two females. Fee is $175 per team and is limited to first eight teams in each division. Registration and payment deadline is 5 p.m., Tuesday, May 6. For more info, visit www.townoffarragut.org. • The First Tee is offering Life Skills Instruction Clinics to beginning golfers ages 8-17 in April and May at Concord Park Golf Course. • Tiny Tees Instructional Clinics at Concord Park Golf Course are designed for children ages 5-7 and will be held from 9 to 9:45 a.m. each Saturday in April. Clinics feature a fun introduction to golf that includes basic instruction in a clinic format and parental involvement and supervision. Fee is $5 per clinic. • Area seniors ages 50 and older will have the opportunity to showcase their athletic abilities at East Tennessee District Senior Olympics, scheduled April 25-30 in Gatlinburg. Individuals will compete within five-year age groups, starting at age 50. Participants 49 years old are eligible to participate in the district and state games as long as their 50th birthday occurs before the end of 2008.

• Concord Hills swim team sign-ups from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 19, and Saturday, May 3, at Concord Hills subdivision pool. Costs are $80 for first child, $75 for second for Concord Hills Recreation Association members and $155 for first, $150 for second for non-members.
