Pimento’s marks first anniversary

Pimento’s Market and Café in Turkey Creek celebrated its first anniversary in December.

“It was a very good first year, actually, a very good first year for our first time out of Memphis,” said David Schomberg, general manager.

The Turkey Creek location is Pimento’s first outside Memphis. According to Schomberg, owner Trey Jordan plans to open another location in Knoxville soon, although the location of the proposed second Knoxville location is unknown.

Pimento’s is well-known for its support of community events.

“The restaurant is all about the public and getting them to come in and treating them like family,” Schomberg said.

“There are so many different ways to do that instead of just doing it in the restaurant … We would go out to the Farragut High School games and launch t-shirts into the crowd.

“It’s just a good way to get out into the community … We’re just trying to do the best we can to make people happy and to get the name out there and learn about the Town,” he added.

Schomberg said residents should expect continued community projects from Pimento’s.

“It’s fun, it’s a good time,” Schomberg said.
