Town softball leagues underway


The 2008 town of Farragut menís and coed softball leagues are underway as every team has at least one game under its belt thus far.

All games are played at Mayor Bob Leonard Park off Watt Road. Both leagues use modified ASA rules and regulations.

The menís league consists of 14 teams that are split up in two divisions: The Blue Division teams include Team Health, G-Men, The Rookies, The Who, H & P Lawncare, Gladiators, Alumni Hall and West Hills Baptist. The Silver Division teams are Alcoa, First Baptist Concord, Jewelry TV, Waterfront Group, Gohan-Ya Allstars and Lovell Heights Church of God.

The menís league had its opening night Monday, April 7, and the regular season will continue every Monday through May 19. The final tournament is scheduled for June 2 and 9.

The coed league consists of nine teams: Ed Financial 1, Ed Financial 2, Belfry Bats, Party City, Ridgetop, OíCharleyís, Nitty Gritty, Chicoís Bail Bonds and Special Ed.

Coed league had its opening night Thursday, April 10, and the regular season will continue every Thursday through May 29. The final tournament is scheduled for June 5 or 12 depending on cancelled games.
