Farragut edges No. 3 West; Bearden tied by Lenoir City

Farragut continued its strong play by beating West 1-0, Tuesday, April 15, at KWHS.

The state’s top-ranked Class AAA Admirals edged out the No. 4 Rebels in what proved to be a battle until the very end.

“That game was a really hard fought game,” Farragut head coach Wallie Culbreth said. “Nobody wants to play on a West field. Its just a hard field and they are used to it.”

Farragut got its lone goal from Tyler Mottern on an assist from Travis Bolton in the 11th minute.

The No. 5 Bearden SoccerDawgs’ struggles continued as it tied Lenoir City 2-2, Tuesday, April 15, at BHS’s Bruce Allender FIeld

Bearden got goals from Ryan Campbell and Ben Ferguson, but couldn’t break the tie against a Lenoir City team that made the most of its opportunities.

The Panthers only had three shots on goal, but Enzo Urquilla put two of those into the net.

The Bulldogs had 15 shots on goal, but couldn’t finish on the majority of its chances.

“Lenoir City played a great game, without making excuses we were equal that day,” SoccerDawgs head coach Eric Turner said. “We had some great offensive pressure, their keeper made some great saves, but we are not clicking at all.

“We are just in a deep funk.”
