• Johnson & Wales University announces it has named Anna Mullens, who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Sports Entertainment Event Management, to its Dean’s List for the 2008 winter term.

• Roane State Community College will hold its Commencement ceremonies for recipients of certificates and Associate of Applied Science degrees beginning at 7 p.m., Friday, May 2, and for Associate of Arts and Associates of Science degrees, including Associate of Science in Teaching degrees, beginning at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 3. Both ceremonies will be held in the gymnasium on RSTCC’s Roane County campus and will be equal in presentation.

• Pellissippi State Technical Community College will hold its Commencement ceremony beginning at 7 p.m., Friday, May 2, at Thompson-Boling Arena. Ceremony is open to public. For additional information or accommodations for a disability, call 865-694-6751.

• Pellissippi State Technical Com-munity College will offer the following “Free Application for Federal Student Aid Help Days:” from noon to 6 p.m., Monday, May 12; from 1 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 10, and from 1 to 6 p.m., Monday, July 14, in Room 101 of the Goins Administration Building on PSTCC’s Hardin Valley Campus. • Town of Farragut will sponsor the 2008 Farragut Primary Schools Art Show through Friday, May 9, at Farragut Town Hall. Art will consist of work by Farragut’s most talented primary artists from Farragut Primary School, Knoxville Christian School and St. John Neumann Catholic School, and may be viewed at any time during business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A reception to honor the artists will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 1, at Town Hall. • The University of Tennessee announces Douglas A. Blaze has been named dean of its College of Law. Blaze, a 15-year faculty member and administrator, has been the interim associate dean for academic affairs. He also is the Art Stolnitz and Elvin E. Overton Distinguished Professor of Law.

• Farragut Middle School will host a program on bullying by Knox County Schools representative Marty Iroff beginning at 6:30 p.m., Monday, May 12, in FMS Studio Theatre. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served prior to program.

• Bearden High School parents will host its annual Project Grad-uation celebration, a fun-filled, over-night party for all graduating seniors, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., Friday, May 16, at Fort Sanders Health and Fitness Center. Event is alcohol-free and is intended to provide a safe, chaperoned alternative to private parties.
