Farragut BB&T bank robbed
Alan Sloan - Thu, May, 8, 2008
A Farragut bank was robbed around 3:30 p.m., Friday, May 2, by a “white male” who “never showed a weapon,” according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office release.
BB&T, 11140 Kingston Pike, was robbed by a white male, “mid- to late-20s, 5-[foot]-8 to 5-[foot]-10, thin build … dark shoes … wearing a dark gray nylon athletic suit with the hood up and a black scarf wrapped around his face,” according to a report read by Martha Dooley of KCSO.
“He tried to get behind the counter, tried open the counter door. Couldn’t open it, so he hopped over it.
“He mumbled to the teller that he wasn’t going to hurt anyone, that he just wanted the money,” Dooley added. “He proceeded, then, to open up all the drawers and put the money into a dark bag.”
The assailant left, “They think in a four-door late ’90s-model vehicle,” Dooley said.
Dooley said KCSO is working jointly with the FBI, adding that anyone with information should call the FBI at 865-544-0751 or KCSO at 865-215-2243.
