• Farragut High School freshmen baseball tryouts begin at 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 3, and Wednesday, June 4, at FHS’s John Heatherly Field.

• Tryouts for Farragut Middle School baseball team (grades sixth, seventh and eighth) begin at 5 p.m. each day, Monday, June 2, through Thursday, June 5.

• Farragut Lady Admiral Softball Camp is Monday through Thursday, June 2-5, at Bellamy Field, home of the Softball Lady Admirals. Camp runs 8:30 a.m. to noon each day for ages 8-10, and 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day for ages 11-15. Cost is $75 for 8-10 and $90 for 11-15. Camp staff is David Moore, FHS head coach, and Nick Green, Dani Spetar and Ray Watson, FHS assistant coaches. • Any girl interested in trying out for Farragut High School volleyball team needs to come to Farragut Middle School gym from 4 to 5:30 p.m., May 22, for open gym play. Players need to come dressed and ready to play. Players going to team camps this summer will be picked from these open gym days. There will be tryouts in early July. • Farragut High School Baseball Camp for ages 7 through incoming high school freshmen runs from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Thursday, June 2-5, at FHS’s John Heatherly Field. Cost is $75. Registration is from 8:15 to 9 a.m., Monday, June 2, at the field.

• Freshman tryouts for Farragut High School baseball begin at 5 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, June 3-4, at FHS’s John Heatherly Field.

• The First Tee Life Skills Instructional Clinics at Concord Park Golf Course are designed for the beginning golfer ages 8–17 each Saturday in June through mid-July (June 7 through July 12) and each Monday (June 2 through July 7). A new skill will be taught each week. Games and practice techniques will be used to make the learning process fun and easy to follow. Cost is $5 per week, limited to 20 students in each session. Saturday sessions run 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday sessions run 4 to 4:45 p.m.

• The First Tee Life Skills Instructional Clinics at Concord Park Golf Course include Tiny Tees Instructional Clinics for children ages 5-7 each Saturday in June and each Monday through June 23. Featured is basic instruction in a clinic format as well as parental involvement and supervision. Cost is $5 a week. Saturday’s times are 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday sessions are 5 to 5:45 p.m.

• Summer Afternoon Golf Sessions at Concord Park course is a weekly golf session for ages 6-14 to have golf instruction on a consistent schedule. This weekly schedule is from 4 to 4:45 p.m. each Thursday June 5 through July 17 for ages 6-8 and 5 to 5:45 p.m. for ages 9-14. Cost is $20 per week.

• Summer Golf Camps at Concord Park included a Three Day Camp from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, June 2-4. Cost is $115. A Two Day Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, June 9-10. Cost for both camps is $75. To register, call Concord course at 865-966-9103.

• Third Annual Farragut High School Basketball Golf Tournament is set for Monday, June 9, at Willow Creek Golf Club. Lunch is at noon followed by tee times at 2 p.m. Entry deadline is Monday, June 2. • East Tennessee Chapter of Tennessee Trails Association scenic hike along old railroad bed along Middle Prong of the Little River is Saturday, May 24. • Tennessee Valley Fair once again will host the annual Cheerleading Competition beginning at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Homer Hamilton Theatre at Chilhowee Park in Knoxville. Competition is open to all official squads from elementary, junior and senior high schools. Entry deadline is Aug. 18 and limited to first 35 entries received.
