Admirals’ stadium facelift continues

With a piece of Farragut Stadium/Bill Clabo Field hanging from a crane, work continued into late May on demolition of the 30-year-old concrete high school stadium. All signs of stadium bleacher concrete were gone by month’s end, to be replaced by aluminum stands with a similar seating capacity — and a climate-controlled pressbox — scheduled to be ready for the start of fall 2008 FHS sports. Eddie Courtney, Admiral varsity football head coach, said FHS Football Boosters Club continues to post a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of vandals who damaged stadium grounds earlier this spring.
