• At 7:30 a.m., Thursday, June 27, a Knox County Sheriff’s Office unit responded to Potrillos, 11151 Kingston Pike, in regards to a burglary. Officer made contact with the owner/complainant, who said he found the front door smashed open and the money from the cash register stolen. Estimated value of damage to the front door was listed at $700. Amount of money taken from the register was listed at $600.

• At 2:24 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, a complainant called KCSO West Precinct to a report a theft of shoes from JCPenney, 11534 Parkside Drive. He advised at 11:02 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, the suspect can be seen on video trying on a pair of Nike shoes and then walking out wearing the shoes. Retail price of the shoes was listed at $85. Suspect left in a silver Dodge four-door vehicle.

• At 11:38 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, an Atchley Drive victim called KCSO North Precinct to report a theft of her vehicle, a 2001 Ford Windstar, along westbound Interstate 40 at mile marker 371. According to the victim, she was told by one of the Tennessee Department of Transportation Help Truck Drivers that around 4 p.m., Monday, June 24, he stopped at the vehicle and there was a male subject there who said he was waiting on a wrecker. She said TDOT has a report on file regarding the employee stopping with the vehicle, but they didn’t give her the employee’s name. Victim advised the transmission had locked up on the vehicle between 3:30 and 4 p.m., June 24. Victim said she had to leave it on the side of I-40 westbound. Victim advised a Help Truck stopped and told her she had three days to get it towed. According to the victim, she has checked with several wrecker services and no one has the vehicle. Victim stated the vehicle belongs to her and her boyfriend. She said he wasn’t around the vehicle yesterday and didn’t have it towed. Victim said there is a lienholder concerning the vehicle, but she checked with them and they didn’t get it. According to the victim, they aren’t behind on any payments but wanted to make sure there hadn’t been any kind of mix up. Victim said the two front hubcaps are missing, it has a yellow Atchley Apartments parking permit on the left side of the rear windshield, partially torn-off stickers on rear passenger window and a dent on the driver’s side front bumper. Value of vehicle was listed at $500.

• At 5:10 a.m., June 25, a KCSO unit responded to The Fresh Market, 11535 Kingston Pike, in regard to a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot on the curb. Officer reported making an identification of the vehicle, a 2006 Cadillac CTS, and made contact with the driver (suspect, arrestee) who was asleep with the car running. Officer reported he knocked on the window several times to wake up the arrestee. Upon asking the arrestee if he knew where he was, Officer reported the suspect appeared very confused and did not know. Arrestee was taken out of the vehicle and patted down for weapons. Officer stated he asked the arrestee if he would empty out his pockets, at which time arrestee consented. Upon doing this, Officer discovered a clear plastic baggie with a clear substance believed to be methamphetamine. Arrestee confirmed it was methamphetamine, adding there was more in the vehicle. Officer searched the vehicle and discovered a black bag on the driver’s side front floorboard, which contained methamphetamine weighing 33.96 grams, plus two pipes, several plastic baggies, s scale and a loaded handgun located in the back seat in a carry bag. Arrestee said he sells meth to pay for his opioid addiction, adding he took his prescribed medication and that is why he fell asleep in his car. Officer did not perform a standardized field sobriety test due to the arrestee being diagnosed with muscular dystrophy and did not want to cause injury. Arrestee was taken into custody and transported to Roger D. Wilsion Detention Facility.

• At 4:50 p.m., Thursday, June 20, a Pecos Road complainant called KCSO Teleserve Unit to report the theft of her debit card numbers. Complainant advised between 5 and 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, she was made aware there were fraudulent charges on her card after receiving a call from her bank. Total value of loss was not listed.

• At 4:41 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, a Berwick Lane complainant called KCSO Teleserve Unit to report a theft at his residence. Complainant advised an unknown suspect pulled into his driveway to gain access to the carport where an orange propane heater was stored. Complainant said he has a video of unknown suspect taking the heater, which had a value listed at $300. Complainant also advised he has a picture of the license plate.
