• Farragut and Bearden boys soccer teams’ post-season honors included each having three players named to the All-Region 2-AAA First Team, plus four on the Second Team. In addition, the Admirals and SoccerDawgs combined for 13 All-District 4-AAA selections led by 4-AAA Most Valuable Player Jake Holt of Farragut, Defender of the Year Joseph Muth of FHS and Forward of the Year Aaron Schoenfeld of Bearden. Tyler Mottern joined Holt and Muth on the All-Region First Team from Farragut, while Schoenfeld was joined by BHS All-Region First Team choices Tom Webster and Patrick Harmony. Second Team All-Region honors went to Other All-District First Team choices from FHS were Mottern, Drew Hemeter, Aaron Stinton, Travis Bolton and Will Beuerlein. Other SoccerDawgs named All-District First Team were Webster, Harmony, Ryan Campbell and Seth Williams. All-Region Second Team honors went to Bolton and Beuerlein of FHS and SoccerDawgs Campbell and Williams. All-District Second Team selections for the Ads were Jonathan Chancey and Josh Riner. Bearden honorees were Alex Wilkerson and Jamie White.

• Bearder High School baseball camp is from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday, June 23, through Thursday, June 26, at BHS’s Phil Garner Field. Cost is $75. All participants must bring copy of insurance card. For more information or to sign up, call Bearden head coach Matt Buckner at 865-368-3141.

• Third Annual Secret City Festival Tennis Tournament will be held June 20-21 (rain date June 22) at Jackson Square Tennis Courts in Oak Ridge. Players will be encouraged to wear all white clothes and play their matches with white tennis balls, representing the attire and equipment used in the 1940s. There is a novice, intermediate and advanced skill level for each of the women’s, men’s and mixed doubles categories. This allows all ages to compete against one another for fun, no matter what their skill level. Skill divisions will be divided into junior, adult, and senior groups. • Boys Lacrosse Camp for ninth-graders and up will be held at Knoxville Sports complex, from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday and Friday, June 26-27, and from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, June 28. Cost is $50 (includes stick/ball).  To register, call Cathy Brandt at 865-705-7300.

• Third Annual Farragut High School Basketball Golf Tournament is set for Monday, June 9, at Willow Creek Golf Club. Lunch is at noon followed by tee times at 2 p.m. Entry deadline is Monday, June 2. Costs are $125 per player, $475 per team. Mail registration and checks payable to FHS 6th Player Club, 808 Woodsmooke Circle, Knoxville, TN 37934. Prizes to top three teams.

• Shangri-La Therapeutic Academy of Riding in Lenoir City is selling tickets to the Knoxville Open Golf tournament at Fox Den Country Club June 19-22. Knox Area Golf Charities is working with non-profit groups to sell $25 weekly (general admission) tickets. Buy three tickets and get one free. • The First Tee Life Skills Instructional Clinics at Concord Park Golf Course are designed for the beginning golfer ages 8–17 each Saturday in June through mid-July (June 7 through July 12) and each Monday through July 7. A new skill will be taught each week. Games and practice techniques will be used to make the learning process fun and easy to follow. Cost is $5 per week, limited to 20 students in each session. Saturday sessions run 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday sessions run 4 to 4:45 p.m.

• The First Tee Life Skills Instructional Clinics at Concord Park Golf Course include Tiny Tees Instructional Clinics for children ages 5-7 each Saturday in June and each Monday through June 23. Featured is basic instruction in a clinic format as well as parental involvement and supervision. Cost is $5 a week. Saturday’s times are 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday sessions are 5 to 5:45 p.m.

• Summer Afternoon Golf Sessions at Concord Park course is a weekly golf session for ages 6-14 to have golf instruction on a consistent schedule. This weekly schedule is from 4 to 4:45 p.m. each Thursday June 5 through July 17 for ages 6-8 and 5 to 5:45 p.m. for ages 9-14. Cost is $20 per week.

• Summer Golf Camps at Concord Park included a Two Day Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, June 9-10. Cost for both camps is $75. To register, call Concord course at 865-966-9103.

• Tennessee Valley Fair once again will host the annual Cheerleading Competition beginning at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Homer Hamilton Theatre at Chilhowee Park in Knoxville. Competition is open to all official squads from elementary, junior and senior high schools. Entry deadline is Aug. 18 and limited to first 35 entries received.
