Third Knox Hibachi Factory in Farragut

Hibachi Factory, 10955 Kingston Pike, opened in StoneCrest Center in early May.

This is the third Hibachi Factory Clark Carter has opened in Knoxville.

“I have two other stores: one in West Knoxville near West Town Mall and one on [UT] campus, and this is our third location since 1997,” Carter said.

Carter said opening in Farragut was no accident.

“I think it’s growing and it’s a great area. We had a lot of calls to our other locations of people saying they’d like it. There was interest: actual customers saying they would love to see one out there,” he said.

“It’s just a nice area and if you want to service Knoxville, you have to be in one of its biggest markets. It was just natural to go there,” he added.

Hibachi Factory bills itself as “Japanese steakhouse delivery.” Carter said the restaurant will deliver to homes or businesses.

“We offer an authentic Japanese grilled chicken, steak and seafood and we’ve always specialized in delivery.

“We deliver [food] just like you would get at a sit-down hibachi steak house … but we do it in just a fast, casual environment,” Carter said.

“It’s just like the food you get with the show, but our prices are a little bit better because you’re not getting the show, but you are getting that type of food,” he added.

“We do have a delivery fee, which goes completely to the driver,” Carter said. The charge is $1.50 per trip.

“[Delivery fees are] just part of the delivery business right now … It’s sort of the market we live in, with gas being so expensive,” he added.

For those who don’t wish to get delivery or carryout, the Farragut location has a sit-down seating area, unlike Carter’s other restaurants.

“In Farragut, we have a nice dine-in area, unlike our other ones,” he said.

“It’s fast food, but in a casual setting.”
