LCUB honors students

Lenoir City Utilities Board annually recognizes the achievements of outstanding seniors from high schools in the utility company’s service area.
Joseph Muth of Farragut High School, Doug Slater of Webb School of Knoxville, Gerrit A. Hale of Karns High School, Emma Parrish, of Christian Academy of Knoxville, Olivia Juneau of Knoxville Catholic High School and Paula R. Miller of Lenoir City High School were recently honored.
“We would like to congratulate the outstanding recipients of the LCUB scholarship for 2008,” Fred Nelson, LCUB General Manager, said.
“They each come highly recommended by their teachers and counselors. We believe they each have a rewarding future ahead in engineering or the computer science industry and wish them the very best in their college endeavors,” he added.
The Board’s commitment to its customers extends beyond providing quality electric service. LCUB’s dedication to the communities it serves is demonstrated through a variety of activities. In addition to sponsoring scholarships for graduates, LCUB is a proud sponsor of the Loudon County Education Foundation and many school-based activities such as the Farragut Primary School Fall Festival, Cedar Bluff PTSA Community Festival, Robert Towns Track Meet for all Loudon County Elementary Schools as well as many others.
