Ex-Admiral Delmonico Dodgers’ pick in 6th round

When Tony Delmonico had his picture taken with famed Los Angeles Dodgers former manager Tommy Lasorda during the 2007 Tennessee Baseball Leadoff Banquet, Lasorda labeled Delmonico a “future Dodger.”
Perhaps Lasorda was right, as Delmonico, a former Farragut High School standout shortstop who transferred to Florida State from UT this season, was drafted in the sixth round by the Dodgers during last week’s Major League Baseball draft.
With FSU heading to the 2008 Men’s College World Series beginning Friday, June 13, Delmonico is hitting .390 with eight home runs and 69 RBIs.
