• Farragut Primary, Intermedi-ate and Middle Schools will hold New Student Registration at the following times: Beginning Friday, July 18, through Monday, Aug. 11, registration will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. each Monday and Tuesday and from 8 a.m. to noon each Thursday and Friday. There will be no registration hours on Wednesdays. The following exceptions apply: There will be no Primary and Intermediate School registration Monday, July 21. There will be no Middle School registration Tuesday, July 22. School begins Monday, Aug. 11. To expedite the registration process bring the following items to registration: Tennessee School Immunization Certificate, birth certificate, Social Security card and proof of residence in the Farragut district. If moving from outside Knox County include the address of your child’s previous school and, if possible, a copy of the student’s last report card.

• Samford University announces the following students have been named to its Spring 2008 Dean’s List: Robert Reavis Baird, Jordan Davis Bondurant, Jennifer Beth Burgess, Andrew Brogan Elliot, Jessica Catherine Lambert, Jay Andrew Meservy, Steven Russell Williams and Kelly Anne Zimmerman. To qualify for the honor, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0, while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework.

• Samford University announces the following students received degrees during its Friday, May 16, Commencement ceremony: Andrew Scott Maurer, Stephen Matthew Adkins, Jennifer Beth Burgess, Amanda Brooke Chester, Shannon Colleen Cornman, Carey Elizabeth Davis, Lisa Alexandra Munday, Annie Laurie Murphree, Nicholas John Panella, Adam Garrison Russell, Abbey Lee Woodruff, Rachel Renee Keener and Andrew John Reagan.

• Farragut High School Class of 1978 announces its 30th class reunion and golf tournament. Tournament will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 1, at Willow Creek Golf Club. Reunion dinner will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight, Saturday, Aug. 2, at Fox Den Country Club. • Pellissippi State Community College will hold mandatory New Student Orientation sessions throughout June and July at its Hardin Valley campus. Sessions also will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Blount County Center; from noon to 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Division Street campus and from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the Magnolia campuses. First-time deg-ree-seeking freshmen are required to attend Orientation to ensure a successful start to their college experience. Parents and family members are encouraged to attend.
