‘Cove’ drowning victim identified
Heather Mays - Thu, Jul, 24, 2008
Knoxville Rescue Squad recovered the body of 19-year-old Luiz Mora-Lopez at The Cove at Concord Park around 4 p.m., Sunday, July 20, according to Martha Dooley of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
Rescue Squad divers found the body within an hour of a 911 call reporting that a man had gone beneath the water and had not resurfaced.
Mora-Lopez apparently drown-ed in Fort Loudoun Lake; witnesses told news crews that the water was very deep where Mora-Lopez was swimming.
Mora-Lopez, a resident at West Parkway Street in Knoxville, was pronounced dead at The University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Repeated phone calls to Rural/Metro Emergency Services did not yield any information.
