Rod Sutch, Senior Olympics badminton phenom from West Knox County (pictured), collected yet another singles state title earlier this month.

And with his wifeís help, also collected a state doubles crown.

Sutch, 55, won his fifth Tennessee Senior Olympics singles title, this one coming July 21 in the 55-59 age bracket during the annual state games, played this year in Franklin.

Sutch then joined forces with his wife, Lovella, to win mixed doubles July 22, defeating the defending state champion team.

Sutch in singles and the couple in mixed doubles qualify for the National Senior Olympics, to be played at Stanford University, Palo Alto, Calif., next year.

Sutch also qualified nationally in menís doubles, finishing second.

His best-ever singles finish nationally was sixth during the 2007 National Senior Olympics.
