Students represent BHS

Ten Bearden High School juniors were chosen to represent BHS in the annual American Legion Boys State and American Legion Auxiliary Girls State programs during the last week of May. Boys State gives young men the opportunity to view problems of government as it operates in Tennessee.

Girls State is an opportunity for young women to practice Americanism and good citizenship. The program is a non-partisan attempt to instill in young women a love of God and country. Girls state is a strenuous program that requires a delegate to be energetic, to be in good health, to be able to adjust to unfamiliar situations and to be willing to accept the challenge of new experiences. BHS Foundation will show their support for these delegates by funding the majority of their $250 each registration fees.
