The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Sheriff Jimmy “J.J.” Jones of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man who robbed a Knoxville bank Monday, Aug. 11.

At approximately 3:50 P.M. this afternoon, a man entered the First Tennessee Bank located at 9133 Middlebrook Pike in Knoxville and jumped the counter. He was armed with a small caliber handgun. Witnesses described the suspect as a white male, between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 tall, thin build, wearing a black cap, surgical mask, blue jeans, white tennis shoes and a yellow muscle shirt.
