Darby record success


Three Farragut swim siblings hauled in medals recently, one of them breaking three city meet records. Jenny Darby, middle, a sophomore at Hardin Valley Academy, displays her three gold medals won swimming for University Swim Club at the July 27 GKAISA 2008 Championship

“City Meet” after establishing three city meet records in the 13-14-year-old division. Jenny won the 100-yard free style by breaking a record established in 1994 with a time of 52.34 seconds; the 50-freestyle by breaking a record established in 2005 with a time of 24.45 seconds and the 50-backstroke by breaking a record established in 2005 with a time of 27.47. Jenny’s 11-year old sister, Ashley, a sixth-grader at Farragut Middle School, brought home Gold in the 11-12 year old division 100-freestyle with a time of 58.37 seconds. Ashley also earned silver in the 50-yard freestyle and 200-mixed freestyle relay. Also pictured is brother, Michael, a third-grader at Farragut Intermediate School, who earned an eighth-place medal in the 8 & Under 25-freestyle.
