CBFO salutes Eddie Neely

The late Eddie Neely, former CBFO Football commissioner and youth sports activists, was honored during CBFO 2008 Kick-Off Classic games Saturday, Aug. 30, at FHS. Brad Burkett, CBFO Football commissioner holding son, Robby, 2, shakes the hand of Eddie’s son, Matt, after donating $1,000 to his widow, Pam, that was raised by CBFO members and other family friends.

The late commissioner’s daughter, Mira, also was on hand. Pam expressed gratefulness, thanking all who donated and saying “the community has stepped up and given way beyond our imagination.” All 12 CBFO teams had an “EN” patch on the back of their helmets to honor Eddie. Don Hutcheson, CBFO Board member, Softball Commissioner and public address announcer, proclaimed Eddie will “long be remembered for his many contributions.”
