Pizza Kitchen marks 10 years

The Pizza Kitchen, off Northshore Drive, is celebrating 10 years.

The Pizza Kitchen opened its doors Aug. 4, 1998. Since then, the restaurant has become well-known for its specialty and gourmet pizzas.

“The community has been extremely welcoming of The Pizza Kitchen since day one. We are fortunate to have become a neighborhood fixture for the families in the Northshore [and] Concord area,” said Travis Redmon, Pizza Kitchen owner.

“When The Pizza Kitchen opened 10 years ago, we realized the Northshore area had the potential for tremendous growth. Ten years later, that potential has been realized.

“The growth of Northshore and the great neighborhoods around us have combined to create a perfect environment for a local neighborhood restaurant like The Pizza Kitchen,” he added.

Growth is not the only reason Redmon wanted to open a pizza restaurant.

“Pizza is a great way for a family to enjoy a meal together. It is also a food item that all generations enjoy,” he said.

“So our goal of bringing in families and having a neighborhood restaurant evolved from the building blocks of a basic pizza operation with more to offer in terms of atmosphere, service, quality, and selection,” he added.

Redmon prides his restaurant on the quality ingredients it uses.

“We make everything from scratch; our dough is a special blend of white and whole wheat grain flours, our sauce is made daily. We make everything, including our salad dressings, from scratch,” he said.

The restaurant offers lunch buffets and a “family buffet” Sunday nights.

“We have live music on Saturday evenings from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. … We have seven T-Vs and one large projection screen where we show games or movies for the children to enjoy while they eat,” Redmon said.

“The Pizza Kitchen is a great neighborhood place,” he added.

According to Redmon, The Pizza Kitchen is offering a limited-time deal to celebrate the restaurant’s 10th anniversary.

Customers may buy any pizza at regular menu price and get a second pizza of equal or lesser value for 10 cents.

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday.

The restaurant does not deliver, but does cater.

“We do not deliver; but we do offer a full catering service. Our customers include doctor’s offices, insurance agencies, residential celebrations, car dealers, etc; our catering team works with each client to address each individual need,” Redmon said.
