• Knoxville chapter of the American Marketing Association hosted Tom Edd Wilson, president and CEO of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, to discuss how his economic development campaign convinced Volkswagen AG to select Chattanooga as the site of its new billion dollar automobile plant.

• Centennial Bluff, an Oak Ridge subdivision, will open its doors to the public during the clubhouse construction celebration, featuring a hospitality tent with seating, a barbeque, live band and tours of the clubhouse Oct. 11-12.

• Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain, PC, has added Amy R. Sharp in its Knoxville office. Sharp has joined the accounting firm in a staff position in the tax division.  She is a recent graduate of Tennessee Technological University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an MBA with a concentration in accounting. Sharp is working toward her CPA.

• The Williams Company is celebrating 20 years of Linda Scothorn’s leadership and service as accounting and finance manager. Linda has overseen a 1,000 percent growth in assets to more than 480 rental units and has been instrumental in the growth, profitability and success of the company.

• The Office on Aging is sponsoring a job fair from 10 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, Oct. 15 at the L. T. Ross Building, 2247 Western Ave., for seniors, age 55 or older, seeking part-time and full-time employment. Individuals seeking employment should bring essential information for filling out applications, such as résumés, work history and references.

• Turner Emery, DDS, MD recently joined Knoxville Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the practice of Dr. Michael Wooten, and is welcoming new patients. • A fall Covenant Health Check event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Friday, Oct. 10, at West Park Baptist Church, 8833 Middlebrook Pike in West Knoxville. The event includes a variety of free screenings as well as several blood chemistry tests offered for nominal fees. Free screenings include blood pressure, body composition, bone density, lung function and vision tests, heart rhythm, carotid artery screening, balance testing, and screening for peripheral vascular disease.
