Design House Interiors moves to Turkey Creek

Steve Everett and Michael Hamlet, co-owners of Design House Interiors, are excited about their move to Turkey Creek.

The partners opened Design House Interiors in 2004 at its original location off North Peters Road. They moved to Turkey Creek in May.

“It’s where everything’s moving to. It’s the new area, basically. It’s more exciting. Everything’s moving this way,” Everett said.

Design House Interiors offers a wide array of interior decorating products as well as an in-house designer.

“Our main business is doing the interior design services,” Everett said.

“We offer in-home design services; we do custom window treatments, bedding.

“We sell fine furniture, accessories, florals, oil paintings, rugs and lighting. We have a lot of accessories and gift items.

“That’s what people really know us by: the gift items,” he added.

“We’re trying to get more into the furniture. We started out more in accessories in the beginning, so people think of us more in accessories.”

Hamlet is the business’s designer, focusing on interior decorating customized to each customer’s wants and needs.

Design House Interiors specializes in residential decoraing, but has done some commercial, including medical and realty offices.

The offices DHI has decorated have “more of a home feeling in there,” Everett said.

Everett and Hamlet started DHI after finding a gap in the interior decorating market.

“We couldn’t find certain items we wanted, and that’s the basic reason we opened up,” Everett said.
