Turkey Creek sees store closures
Heather Mays - Thu, Nov, 13, 2008
Turkey Creek’s Linens ‘n Things, 11020 Parkside Drive, will be closing before the year ends.
Linens ‘n Things declared bankruptcy May 2 and began its liquidation sales Oct. 17.
“So the company filed for bankruptcy and they tried to seek someone who could restructure or either sell it to another company … but unfortunately, given the present economic market and the tight credit crunch, that couldn’t occur,” Rich Tauderman, LNT spokesman, said.
“Unfortunately, the going-out-of-business sales started … and probably should end about by the end of the year or so,” he added.
The LNT stores are not on a closing schedule: dates depend entirely on the rate items are sold: the faster items sell, the sooner the store closes.
“Each of the going-out-of-business sales is dependent on what the inventory looks like,” Tauderman said.
After the inventory is sold, store fixtures such as shelves and displays will be sold as well.
