Drowning claims Bearden High graduate

A Bearden High School guidance counselor has spoken out offering BHS assistance to grieving family members mourning the death of teenager Brandon Fugate.

Brandon, BHS Class of 2008, drowned after the boat he and two friends were using while fishing on Lake Ray Hubbard, Dallas, Texas, capsized Saturday, Nov. 29, according to a McClatchy-Tribune Regional News report. Brandon’s colleagues both survived.

“I knew Brandon well … the Bearden family is very saddened by what happened. All of our hopes and prayers go out to the family,” said Greg Herald, Brandon’s guidance counselor at BHS. “We wish nothing but the best for Brandon’s family, and certainly we are open to anything that they might need some assistance with from anyone up here.”
