WordPlayers to present New Year’s Eve ‘WORD-a-Thon’

The WordPlayers will hold a WORD-a-Thon, a reading of the entire New Testament, from 8 a.m. to midnight, Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Middlebrook Christian Ministries, 1540 Robinson Road.
“We thought this would be a great thing for people to reflect on the Word of God,” Jeni Lamm, a WordPlayer spokesperson, said.
“Times have been bad economically, but the Word is still full of hope and truth.
“We thought it would be an appropriate, meaningful way to celebrate the end of this year and start out the new year,” she added.
More than 20 WordPlayer actors and actresses will narrate the New Testament in pairs throughout the day.
“It will be a really neat and worshipful event for us,” Lamm said.
The former church provides a “nice, intimate setting,” Lamm said.
Community members are welcome to come and go throughout the day, she added.
